Photography – What is it to me?
This quote, from an episode of National Geographics Most Amazing Photos, featuring Paul Nicklen searching for the Spirit Bear in Bristish Columbia, sums it up perfectly:
When the vision in your head becomes the lump in your throat, that’s photography.
When I capture a moment that evokes emotion, I’m just greatfull to be able to share with others and hope it touches them just as deeply.
I’m a person that is always busy learning new things and therefore always explore new ways of doing things. I would like to think of my wedding photography as that of a journalistic approach balanced with the required formal portraits the majority of couples and their family sought after.
I capture moments and try my best to be as little intrusive as possible except for the couple- and formal portraits. I'm not the kind of photographer who will take over the proceedings, but will subtly get the results to tell the story of your wedding day. I believe in creating a laid-back, friendly environment in which people are comfortable and those natural moments are more likely to unfold in front of the camera.
I came to wedding photography after shooting sport, corporate events, venues and don’t forget the dog shows. My clients always want to promote me into wedding and lifestyle photography but I took my time to accustom myself to those genres. I've decided to grow myself into wedding and lifestyle photography with great success and positive feedback my clients. When I shoot or do post processing it is as if time stand still and I just love when I see some surreal moments form infront of me.
Capturing a subject with the correct light, speed and composition and document the specific moment in time is always a challenge I excel on. The “WoW” I get from those captured moments, from clients and friends drives me to be even better each time I switch on my trusted camera.
There is a saying I believe in:
The best way to compliment a photographer is to book him/her.
